Weighing and packing matzot at a factory owned by the Herzog brothers at 32 Andreasstrasse in Friedrichsmain. The Berlin factory was established in 1924 by the brothers Theodor and Michael Herzog from Posen. The production output reached 120,000 matzot a day, and the factory was one of the biggest in Germany. Due to economic hardships, the factory was closed down in 1937. Theodor Herzog, who was an activist for many years in the "Kottbusser Ufer" Synagogue, immigrated to Eretz Israel via Holland in March 1937 and died in 1939. After the closure of the factory, Michael Herzog lived off welfare, and in 1939, immigrated to the United States. He died in Buffalo, New York in 1952.
