Julius Streicher, a Nazi leader, was the editor-in-chief of the Nazi newspaper Der Strumer, which started distrubution in the 1920s and advanced ideas of racial antisemitism. In his newspaper he claimed that the Jews were responsible for the German economic collapse, unemployment and inflation. At Nuremberg he was tried by the International Military Tribunal along with other leading Nazis. He was found guilty of crimes against humanity and was executed on October 1, 1946
