Ilya Nizguretzkiy was born in Ulanov, Ukraine (USSR), 1922 to Solomon and Lyubov. He was a kursant vysshego voyenno-morskogo uchilishcha imeni frunze and single. Prior to WWII he lived in Ulanov, Ukraine (USSR). During the war he was in the Soviet armed forces. Ilya was killed in military service in WWII. Place of death: Baltic Sea, 27/08/1941.
Among the Jewish soldiers killed in WWII, especially in the Red Army, tens of thousands were singled out and murdered as Jews while in captivity as prisoners of war.
