Aleksandr Teytelbaum was born, 1895 to Lev. He was a military doctor and married to Zinaida. Prior to WWII he lived in Velikiye Luki, Russia (USSR). During the war he was in Zlatoust, Russia (USSR). Aleksandr was registered following the evacuation/ in the interior of the Soviet Union.
Following the Nazi onslaught on 22 June 1941, about one and a half million Jewish residents of the Soviet Union were evacuated or fled to the interior of the country. They had to leave everything behind and find refuge in difficult conditions of food scarcity, harsh weather and disease.
