Mikhail Mazo was born in Smolevichi, Belorussia (USSR), 1914 to Yudel and Khaya. He was a teacher and married to Roza nee Rodova. Prior to WWII he lived in Smolevichi, Belorussia (USSR). During the war he was in the Soviet armed forces. Mikhail was killed in military service in WWII. Place of death: Rzhev, Russia (USSR), 1942.
Among the Jewish soldiers killed in WWII, especially in the Red Army, tens of thousands were singled out and murdered as Jews while in captivity as prisoners of war.
