Maria Abramovich was born in 1869 to Yakov. Prior to WWII she lived in Rostov, Russia (USSR). During the war she was in Novosibirsk, Russia (USSR). Maria was registered following the evacuation to the interior of the Soviet Union.
Following the Nazi onslaught on 22 June 1941, about one and a half million Jewish residents of the Soviet Union were evacuated or fled to the interior of the country. They had to leave everything behind and find refuge in difficult conditions of food scarcity, harsh weather and disease.
