Naum Surkin was born in Kiyev, Ukraine (USSR), 1903 to Pinkhas and Sura. He was a civil engineer and married to Maryam. Prior to WWII he lived in Kiyev, Ukraine (USSR). During the war he was in the Soviet armed forces. Naum was killed in military service in WWII. Place of death: Kerch, Russia (USSR), 1942.
Among the Jewish soldiers killed in WWII, especially in the Red Army, tens of thousands were singled out and murdered as Jews while in captivity as prisoners of war.
