Esfira Goloborodko was born in Aleksandrovka, Ukraine (USSR), 1927 to Khaim and Rakhil. She was child. Prior to WWII she lived in Aleksandrovka, Ukraine (USSR). Following the Nazi onslaught on 22 June 1941, about one and a half million Jewish residents of the Soviet Union were evacuated or fled to the interior of the country. They had to leave everything behind and find refuge in difficult conditions of food scarcity, harsh weather and disease.
