A documentary. This is the story of the rescue of 717 children from occupied Poland and their grueling journey to Palestine (now Israel) in the winter of 1943. This unprecedented operation took the children, many without their parents, on a tortuous path that led them to distant lands, through Russia, Persia, Yamen and Egypt before they arrived safely in Palestine. For the Jewish settlement, the Children of Teheran were the first survivors of the Holocaust who attested to the horrors of war-torn Europe. Some of these survivors testify in this movie and there are archive photographs and footage.

בערוב ימיהם יוצאים אברהם, זיגי, שרייבר ורובינזון לקרב האחרון בחייהם: הקרב נגד מדינת ישראל, עליה חלמו ואותה הקימו במו ידיהם. ארבעתם מייצגים 217 ילדי טהרן, יתומי שואה שתובעים ממדינת ישראל כספים שהתקבלו עבור שיקומם מגרמניה. העימות עם המדינה שמונתה להיות האפוטרופוס הרשמי שלהם, מציף בהם שוב את כאב היתמות. הסרט מתעד 12 שנים של מאבק מטלטל, מקומם ומצחיק, במהלכו הופכים הגיבורים לחבורה שיש בה אהבה, שותפות גורל ונחמה.

סרט תיעודי קצר מתוך פרויקט סרטי אנימציה במסגרת קורס בנושא "עיצוב מדיית מסך" בהנחיית דנה בן דוד ובהשראת פרויקט "לאסוף את השברים" של יד ושם לימודי תקשורת חזותית ב- HIT מכון טכנולוגי חולון. אילנה ועמנואל לנדאו, אח ואחות צעירים, היו שניים מ"ילדי טהרן" שנדדו ברחבי העולם. לאחר שהגיעו ארצה קיבלה אילנה קרניאל מאחיה את מפת הנדודים ובה המסלול שעברו, אחיה נהרג חמש שנים מאוחר יותר.
