סרט תיעודי על האדריאל ושר החימוש של הרייך השלישי, אלברט שפר/ Albert Speer. שפר נחשב לחברו הטוב ביותר של אדולף היטלר. שפר נידון במשפטי נרינברג לעשרים שנות מאסר. לאחר שחרורו בשנת 1966, פרסם את האוטוביוגרפיה שלו "בתוככי הרייך השלישי" (יצאה גם בעברית). בתחילת שנות השבעים של המאה הקודמת, נשלח התסריטאי אנדרו בירקיןAndrew Birkin, אל שפר על מנת לעבד את הספר לסרט. בסרט נחשפות בפעם הראשונה, ארבעים שעות השיחה בין שפר לבירקין , ומוצגים חומרי ארכיון נדירים.
