The Auschwitz Report

A feature film. This is the true story of Freddy (Alfréd Wetzler) and Walter (Rudolf Vrba) two Slovak Jews, who were deported to Auschwitz in 1942. On 10 April 1944, after planning and with the help of their inmates, they manage to escape. They hope that their evidence could save lives. They make their way through the mountains back to Slovakia and finally manage to cross the border and meet the resistance and The Red Cross. They compile a detailed report about the systematic genocide at the camp. However, with Nazi propaganda and international liaisons still in place, their account seems to be too harrowing...

La Dernière Femme du Premier Train The last woman from the first train

סרט תיעודי. במשך חמש עשרה שנים צילם דניאל פרידמן את הילדה הרובובקה, ניצולה אחרונה מהשיירה הראשונה של נשים יהודיות צ'כוסלובקיות שהגיעה לאושוויץ ביום פתיחת מחנה הנשים, ה- 26 במרץ 1942. היא תישאר שם עד חורבן אושוויץ על ידי הנאצים ב ינואר 1945 ותשתתף באחת מצעדות המוות למחנה ראוונסברוק ששוחררה במאי 1945. באמצעות אנקדוטות העלילות שלה עשירה, חושפת הילדה את הקשר בין המגורשים ועם אס אס ותנאי החיים במחנה. מתמונות ארכיוניות, דניאל פרידמן מדגיש גם את המדיניות האנטישמית של המדינה הסלובקית, שסבסדה את גירוש יהודי צ'כוסלובקיה לגרמניה.

A Story in Third Person

One daughter in tribute to her mother, who against her will became a hero during the Holocaust. Zuzi Braun and her sister Agi were happy, secure teenagers with a very strong connection, in Slovakia on the 1930’s when their world turned upside down. Zuzi’s daughter celebrates her mother’s courage and perseverance as they travel together and retrace the harrowing journey that Zuzi took in order to save her crippled sister and herself. The Woman Rabbi

Today, her name is known mostly to historians, but she was once a legendary member of the "Working Group", an underground resistance group active in Slovakia. This documentary" tells the story of the Gisi, torn between the sense of responsibility for her large community and for her own family. The film also bears witness to the way the contemporary Slovak society tries to deal with its past.
