אחת מתמונות השואה המפורסמות ביותר צולמה במחנה אושוויץ בינואר 1945. בתמונה נראית קבוצת ילדים במדי אסירים מאחורי גדר המחנה, תמונה שהפכה לאחד מסמליו של מחנה ההשמדה. מה שרבים לא יודעים הוא שמדובר למעשה בשחזור. התמונה צולמה על ידי משחררי המחנה, אנשי הצבא האדום, שאספו וביימו קבוצה של ילדים ששהו באושוויץ אחרי השחרור. 60 שנה אחרי שחרור אושוויץ השלים גבי נוימן את מפעל חייו: מתוך 13 ילדים שמופיעים איתו בתצלום המקורי זיהה נוימן 10 ילדים ואיתר אותם ברחבי העולם. הילדים לא הכירו זה את זה אבל צילום אחד מחבר ביניהם ומגלה שסיפור חייהם מצטלב בנקודות רבות נוספות. לפני 3 שנים יצאו נוימן, יחד עם שישה מהילדים שמופיעים בתצלום...
