A life story of Czech R.A.F. pilot Josef Bryks, who had many times during the 2nd World War in the forces put his life great danger. Later in captiviti he was the sourse of everyone's hope, when he attempted to escape the camp seven times. The comunist back in the Czechoslovakia had rewarded him with jail and slave labor in uranium mines. In an inmates questionnaire he did not state that he'd regret his service for his country, he just said: "I have overestimated the Czech soul." In 1957 was Jan Bryks, aged 41 tortured to death in Jachymovov jail.
After Neville Chamberlain announces the signing of the Munich Pact with Germany, RAF officer Keith Wilson becomes disgusted with Britain's appeasement and denounces his country's foreign policy. A feature film. Britain and Germany during the winter of 1940 are in a race to conquer Norway in order to gain control over the iron ore export from the Norwegian harbors. When two enemy fighter planes are shot down, the survivors, both German and British crew members, are forced to seek refuge in order to withstand the harsh weather in the wilderness of the Norwegian mountains. They both end up in an isolated cabin where these enemies of war soon realize that their survival depends on joint action and cooperation.
