A documentary film. It exposes the events of the first months of World War Two in the Baltic States and how almost the entire Jewish community of the occupied Baltic Nations was eliminated by face to face executions, one bullet at a time with assistance of local population, before the Final Solution, before Auschwitz, and before gas chambers.
A feature film. A young sign painter in 1940s Latvia dreams to marry Zisla, the daughter of a local Jewish merchant and to pursue a career as an artist. His social circumstances get him caught up in a love triangle, and his romantic dream shatters as the country inches towards totalitarianism. The film tells the story of Latvia’s turbulent history during the Second World War .
