A Documentary combined with drama footage. The film tells the story of Polina Gelman, the only Jewish woman awarded the Gold Star Hero of the Soviet Union. According to Red Army regulations, a bomber could receive the Gold Star only after making one hundred successful flights. From 1942-1945, Polina Gelman’s flight log recorded 869 combat flights and 1300 hours in the air. This documentary is a tribute to this woman and also deals with broader issue of Jewish participation in WWII.
