Lisa Derman's Tribute Video

This documentary, based on family photographs and interviews tells the story of Lisa and Aron Derman, young polish-Jewish couple that escaped the Vilna ghetto in 1941 to join the partisans. Only 15 and 18 at the time, they fought and survived in the forests of Lithuania until the war was over. For weeks they traveled, making their way across mountains and borders. Finally they reached Italy, and there they met the Jewish Brigade. Few in their families survived. For many years lisa devoted her life to education and learning about the Holocaust and humanity.

Quarter to Eight - Story of Motty Hod

Documentary film about Mordechai (Motti) Hod (Fein) (1926-2003), the seventh Commander-in-Chief of the Israeli Airforce. Hod was born in Kibbutz Degania. In 1944, at the height of the Second World War, Hod volunteered to serve in the British Army in a transportation unit that assisted the Jewish Brigade on the Italian front. In 1946, Hod joined the "Palmach", (the special strike force of the "Haganah"), and was sent to Europe by the "Haganah" to aid in "illegal immigration" operations (the transportation of holocaust survivors to Palestine by sea in violation of British policies which had virtually closed...

סדרת תעודה בהפקת ערוץ 1 של הטל' הישראלית העוסקת בתולדות התנועה ציונות עד הקמת מדינת ישראל. העבודה על הסדרה החלה ב-1975 ונמשכה כ-4 שנים. שידורה לראשונה ב-1981, עורר וויכוח ציבורי על רקע מחלוקת בעניין ייצוג תרומת יהדות ספרד למפעל הציוני בסדרה. "עמוד האש" מבוססת על תצלומים וסרטי ארכיון מ-30 ארכיונים בארץ ובעולם, ראיונות עם עדי ראייה, ציורים, וגרפיקה. גרסה זאת של הסדרה היא הגרסה המלאה בת ה- 19 פרקים. קריינות מאת השחקן יוסי בנאי.

Pillar of Fire, Part 5 - Holocaust 1939 - 1945

Produced by the Israeli Television, this documentary series deals with the history of Zionism till the establishment of the State of Israel. First episode of this 4-years complicated production aired in 1981 and created a public stir and controversy regarding the presentation of the Sephardim Jewry contribution to the Zionist movement. “Pillar of Fire” us based on archival films and photos takes from 30 archives, both in Israel and abroad, interviews and illustrations. This short 7-episodes version of the series was produced for foreign markets. Narration by British actor Ian MacCellen
