A hand was guiding me

A short documentary. Silvio Borghi, a cheesemaker from Mirandola (Modena), met the Talvi Jewish family in 1943, who were living there under internment. After September 8th, the family turned to him for help in hiding, but the situation was precarious. With the help of Don Dante Sala and the Riva family from Cernobbio, Silvio built a route to safety towards Switzerland, which would later save over 100 people.

The priest's net

A short documentary. 1943: In Finale Emilia (Modena), around the figure of the priest Father Benedetto Richeldi, a rescue network is formed that involves the entire city and other areas of the province of Modena. The network organizes the rescue of ten foreign Jews who were under a regime of free internment in Finale, providing them with several hiding places, false documents, and later organizing their escape to Switzerland.

Family album

A short documentary. The story of the Sinigaglia family told through photographs, historical films, letters, diaries, and the memories of their descendants. In 1938, the racial laws excluded them from society, and after September 8, 1943, finding themselves in danger of their lives, they were forced to attempt to flee to Switzerland. During these difficult years, they were helped by a diverse network of friends, strangers, colleagues, partisans, and especially by their maid – 'Clelia' – who had lived with them since 1934 and did not hesitate to risk her own safety to contribute to their salvation.
