A documentary film. At the outbreak of World War II, 380,000 Jews lived in Warsaw, about a third of the city's population. In the fall of 1940, the the Germans transferred them to the ghetto. On November 19, 1982, Günther Schwarberg, the editor of the German magazine "Der Stern" was invited to the home of an 84-year-old man, from whom he received a yellowing envelope with 140 negatives of photos he had taken 41 years earlier, during World War II. A Polish-Jewish doctor, Halina worked in the Warsaw Ghetto treating patients until she was deported to Treblinka and murdered there on the 12th of September 1942. The story is told through the eyes of Halina’s daughter, Wanda Albinska, who survived the Holocaust along with her three siblings. They were saved by: Dr. Andrzej Trojanowski , Stenia Trojanowski Halina Szenicer Dr. Janina Radlińska, whome were recognised by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations.

סרט תיעודי. הסרט מביא את סיפורם של רופאי גטו ורשה, שכנגד כל הסיכוים, בתנאים קשים ביותר של סגר, צפיפות ומחלות קשות, הקימו מערך בריאות מרשים שתיפקד 24 שעות ביממה, וסיפק שירותים לאוכלוסיית הגטו. המערך הרפואי של הגטו כלל כ-800 רופאים ורופאות, מדענים בעלי שם ואחיות מקצועיות. במסגרת המערך שהקימו, הצליחו הרופאים היהודים ליצר שני מיזמים חסרי תקדים: פקולטה מחתרתית ללימודי רפואה, ומחקר שעסק ברעב. הפקולטה הוקמה ב-1941, בניגוד מוחלט לפקודות הנאצים. מספר פרופסורים ורופאים, בשיתוף ראש מערך הבריאות ביודנראט, ד"ר ישראל מילייקובסקי, העמידו מערך לימודים ל- 500 הסטודנטים לרפואה שעברו לחיות בגטו. הלימודים התקיימו בכל תנאי...
