Based on the acclaimed novel by Leon Uris (1958), this epic drama tells the story of "Exodus", an illegal immigration ship that became the symbol of the struggle for the right of free Jewish immigration into Palestine and the birth of the Jewish state. The story heightens the tensions between the British, the Arabs and the Jews of Palestine. "Exodus" was shot on location all over the Mediterranean and its cast includes many celebrated actors (Paul Newman, Peter Lawford, Lee J. Cobb, Sal Mineo and Eva Marie Saint). The music by composer Ernest Gold won an Academy Award.

A documentary. The film presents the stories of seven Holocaust survivors and their various contributions to the state of Israel in various areas of life. Among the participants in the film are: Prof. Andre Hajdu - Israel Prize laureate in music. Moshe Zanbar – former Governor of the Bank of Israel. Yitzhak Arad - a retired Chief of Education Officer in the Israeli army and one of the founders of Yad Vashem. In the film, there is footage of visits to the Museum at Latroun, and to Yad Vashem.

Approximately 4,500 Jewish refugees boarded the “Exodus” July 11th 1947, a ship that was purchased by the Mossad for Aliya Bet. In cramped conditions and shortages in supplies, the ship left the port in Southern France. During the voyage the name of the ship was changed to “Exit Europe 1947”.
