An intimate and quietly strong story of a Jewish boy coming of age in Nazi Germany as events uproot and disband his family. As the Nazis round up and deport Jews, David runs from hideout to hideout and ultimately manages to escape to Palestine with the help of an anti-Nazi German. It is 1940 and David may well be the final Jew to escape from the Third Reich. He departs as one who confronted evil, and he emerges with his spirit intact.
A short animated documentary. The Story of Holocaust Survivor Fanny Ben Ami. Ben Ami was born in Germany. With the rise of the Nazis to power, her family relocated to France. After the occupation of France and her father's prisonment, Fanny and her sisters were sent to a children's home with the assistance of the OSE organization. Later, when a group of children was organized to escape by the OSE, despite many obstacles and at great personal risk, anny led the group of children across the Swiss border. The film incorporates and animates Fanny's original illustrations, which document her life story.
A short documentary. Odoardo Focherini and Don Dante Sala created a rescue network during the second world war and helped over 100 Jewish people reach Switzerland. The network extended from the province of Modena to the foot of Mount Bisbino. Focherini paid for these actions with his life.
