Between 1934 an 1942, 526 Austrians fled from fascism and National Socialism to Colombia, which had been a haven for refugees who fled the Austrian civil war in the 1930ies. The majority of those immigrants were Jews, who escaped after the “Anschluss”, the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany, to South America. Most of them reached Colombia via the seaport Barranquilla. There and in the capital Bogotá, they found a new homeland, established companies, and built up a living. Fanny's story

A short animated documentary. The Story of Holocaust Survivor Fanny Ben Ami. Ben Ami was born in Germany. With the rise of the Nazis to power, her family relocated to France. After the occupation of France and her father's prisonment, Fanny and her sisters were sent to a children's home with the assistance of the OSE organization. Later, when a group of children was organized to escape by the OSE, despite many obstacles and at great personal risk, anny led the group of children across the Swiss border. The film incorporates and animates Fanny's original illustrations, which document her life story.

התיאטרון שמר עלינו - סיפורה של ליא קניג-שטולפר

סרט תיעודי קצר. שחקנית וזוכת פרס ישראל ליא קניג-שטולפר נולדה בפולין בשנת 1929. הוריה, יוסף קאמין ודינה קניג, היו שחקני תיאטרון יידיש מוכרים בשנים שבין שתי מלחמות העולם. כשפרצה המלחמה חיה ליא עם אימה בעיר צ'רנוביץ שסופחה על-ידי הסובייטים. בהמשך הן עברו לקישינב שבמולדובה שם הייתה אימה שחקנית בתיאטרון הממלכתי היהודי שבעיר. לאחר שהגרמנים פלשו לברית המועצות בקיץ 1941 נמלטו השתיים יחד עם שאר שחקני התיאטרון לפנים ברית המועצות, לאזור הרפובליקה הסוציאליסטית האוזבקית. במהלך הבריחה נחשפה ליא לזוועות המלחמה ולהפצצות ההרסניות של הצבא הגרמני. אביה של ליא, שבפרוץ המלחמה היה באזור אחר של אוקראינה הסובייטית, ברח גם הוא לפנים...

לעולם אל תוותר - סיפורו של רומן גרסלר

סדרת סרטי מקור עם ניצולי שואה בהפקת בית הספר הבינלאומי להוראת השואה ביד ושם. רומן גסלר נולד ב6.2.1937 7 בביילסקו-ביאלה שבדרום פולין להוריו אדוארד ודורה גסלר ולאחיו , אלק ולילי. בשנת 1938 הצטרפה למשפחה אומנת גרמנייה אתנית בשם אלזיבת' ליה הדווגי/Gessler Elisabeth (Leja). משפחת גסלר נמלטה מהעיר מזרחה על פי התקדמות הכוחות הגרמניים ממערב. בדרך לא דרך הצליחה אב המשפחה להביא את ילדיו ואת אליזבת' בסופו של דבר לבוקרשט ברומניה. שם שרדו עד שחרור העיר בידי הצבא האדום. לאחר המלחמה עברו בני המשפחה לוינה, שם סיים רומן את חוק לימודיו. לאחר מכן עלה לישראל , התגייס לצה"ל ואף נלחם במבצע קדש.
