סרט תיעודי אודות חייו של הקולנוען היהודי צרפתי, ממוצא רומני, ברנרד נתן. הסרט סוקר את חייו של הקולנוען היהודי , יליד יאסי שברומניה, ששירת בצבא הצרפתי במלחמת העולם הראשונה, ולאחר מכן היגר לצרפת והפך לאחד ממייסדי הקולנוע הצרפתי. הוא היה במאי, צלם, מפיק ופיתח טכניקות מתקדמות בפיתוח סרטים. לאחר כיבוש צרפת בידי הנאצים, והסתבכויות כלכליות , נשללה אזרחותו הצרפתית . הוא נאסר נשלח למחנה הריכוז דראנסי, ומשם , בספטמבר 1942, במשלוח לאוושיץ שם נרצח סמוך להגעתו.
