The Children of Teheran

A documentary. This is the story of the rescue of 717 children from occupied Poland and their grueling journey to Palestine (now Israel) in the winter of 1943. This unprecedented operation took the children, many without their parents, on a tortuous path that led them to distant lands, through Russia, Persia, Yamen and Egypt before they arrived safely in Palestine. For the Jewish settlement, the Children of Teheran were the first survivors of the Holocaust who attested to the horrors of war-torn Europe. Some of these survivors testify in this movie and there are archive photographs and footage.

This documentary explores the German Templers settlement in British Mandate Palestine. The Templers (Members of the Temple Society; Tempelgesellschaft), a religious protestant order founded in south Germany in the 2nd half of the 19th century, believed that redemption (2nd coming of Christ) would arrive only by inhabiting the Holy land. They settled in Palestine as of the 19th Century until their deportation by the Britishץ under suspicion charges of collaboration with the Nazis. Pillar of Fire, Part 4 - Who's Afraid of Jewish State 1937 - 1939

Produced by the Israeli Television, this documentary series deals with the history of Zionism till the establishment of the State of Israel. First episode of this 4-years complicated production aired in 1981 and created a public stir and controversy regarding the presentation of the Sephardim Jewry contribution to the Zionist movement. “Pillar of Fire” us based on archival films and photos takes from 30 archives, both in Israel and abroad, interviews and illustrations. This short 7-episodes version of the series was produced for foreign markets. Narration by British actor Ian MacCellen.
