A documentary film. At the outbreak of World War II, 380,000 Jews lived in Warsaw, about a third of the city's population. In the fall of 1940, the the Germans transferred them to the ghetto. On November 19, 1982, Günther Schwarberg, the editor of the German magazine "Der Stern" was invited to the home of an 84-year-old man, from whom he received a yellowing envelope with 140 negatives of photos he had taken 41 years earlier, during World War II. "דיוקן במחיר פיסת מצייה. 8/2/1945 Lichtenorth - כך נרשם בתחתית דיוקנה של נערה עצובת מבט. הנערה המצויירת בדיוקן היא שושנה לוינגר (רוכליץ). שושנה לוינגר, ילידת 1927 בודפשט, הונגריה, נשלחה לעבודות כפייה במחנה ליכטנורת' שבגרמניה בתום צעדת מוות. את הדיוקן ציירה עבורה אסירה בשם סקאנדי אליז, על חלקה האחורי של קופסה, תמורת נגיסה מהמצייה של שושנה. לאחר המלחמה עשתה שושנה את דרכה בחזרה לבודפשט ברגל, שם פגשה...
