Unveiling of the Memorial Monument for the Holocaust, Resistance and the Rebirth of Israel, at Kibbutz Netzer Sereni. Sculptor - Batia Lishansky, 31.10.1968

A documentary. In Kibbutz Netzer Sirani, a monument of the Holocaust and heroism and the resurrection of Israel was unveiled. The monument was created by sculptor Batya Lishansky. Guest of honor - former Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. Among the torchbearers at the unveiling ceremony was Avraham Herzfeldzal. At the ceremony, the speach held by Ben-Gurion and children put flowers at the foot of the monument.

Altalena

The documentary tells the story of Altalena, an Etzel Hagana ship which Hagana men blew up on June 22th, 1948 at Tel-Aviv beach. Three of the founding fathers of Israel were involved in this event: David Ben-Gurion, Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Rabin. Why did Ben-Gurion instruct Israeli soldiers to open fire? Why did Yitzhak Rabin call this day "the blackest day in my life?" The film follows the journey of the Altalena from its departure from the port in France, with 930 man, many of which Holocaust survivors, and ammunition on board.

In this documentary, an overview of the activities of a number of Jewish organizations, led by “The Prosecution Convention” as well as the history of the reparations agreement are presented. The film tries to answer the question why many Holocaust survivors are not benefiting from the monies and property that Jewish organizations succeeded in reacquiring in the name of the victims of the Nazis. Includes archival footage, photographs, interviews with Holocaust survivors, researchers, jurists, journalists, and prosecution convention issues, the foundation for Holocaust survivors welfare, and more.

Produced by the Israeli Television, this documentary series deals with the history of Zionism till the establishment of the State of Israel. First episode of this 4-years complicated production aired in 1981 and created a public stir and controversy regarding the presentation of the Sephardim Jewry contribution to the Zionist movement. “Pillar of Fire” us based on archival films and photos takes from 30 archives, both in Israel and abroad, interviews and illustrations. This short 7-episodes version of the series was produced for foreign markets. Narration by British actor Ian MacCellen
