The Liberation of Auschwitz, 1945

A doumentary series. The part is based on original fottages that were shot in Auschwitz by Soviet photographs between January 27th, 1945 and February 28th, 1945, the first month after the camp's liberation. Almost no editing was done, nor sound or music added. Alexander Vorontsov one of the Soviet photographs, participated in the shooting of the film.

סרט תיעודי. הסרט מספר על סרט דוקומנטרי על תרצה קשפיצקי ניצולת שואה שחיה בזמן מלחמת העולם השנייה בזהות בדויה כנוצרייה בלבוב ובקראקוב. לאחר המלחמה עלתה לישראל דרך מחנה המעצר בקפריסין, התגייסה לצה"ל במלחמת העצמאות וכיום מרצה בפני תלמידים וחיילים על קורותיה בשואה. הסרט מתלווה אליה ליום בו היא מספרת את סיפורה בפני חיילי צה"ל ובמקביל מספרת לבמאי בפולנית על קורותיה. בסרט משולבים קטעי ארכיון בשחור לבן מהתקופות השונות.

Night and Fog

This film is among the first documentary films about the Holocaust and one of the best known in the field of Holocaust cinema. Through an integration of archival films of the Nazi concentration camps and color photographs of the camps and their surroundings around 10 years after the war, the film presents the historical reality of the Final Solution in a direct and revelatory manner. Relative to its time "Night and Fog" was considered innovative in its universal and humanistic approach and it served as a source of inspiration for many documentary films about the Holocaust.

Escape From Sobibor

A made-for-TV film which aired in 1987 on CBS. It deals with the extermination camp at Sobibor, which was site of an uprising by Jewish prisoners. On October 14, 1943, members of the camp's underground resistance succeeded in covertly killing eleven SS officers and a number of Ukrainian guards. Of the 600 inmates in the camp, roughly 300 escaped, although most were later re-captured and killed. The escape forced the Nazis to close the death camp, dismantling it and planting a forest. Eight year-old Bruno is the sheltered son of a Nazi officer whose promotion takes the family from their comfortable home in Berlin to a desolate area where the lonely boy finds nothing to do and no-one to play with.
