This documentary presents the biography of Konrad Adenauer, the First Chancellor of West Germany (1949-1963). Before the war, Adenauer was a member of the Central Party and between 1917 and 1933 he served as mayor of Cologne. As a Catholic, he opposed the Nazis and in March 1933, was removed from his post and even arrested on two occasions. In his role as Chancellor, Adenauer finalized reparation payments with Israel.
