סרט תיעודי על קהילת יהודי סלוניקי. שבסלוניקי חיה, והשפיעה אחת מהגדולות בקהילות היהודיות. התושבים היהודים היוו למעלה מחמישים אחוז מתושבי העיר ולכן נחשבה לאחת הקהילות החשובות ביותר בין קהילות הבלקן. הגרמנים נכנסו לסלוניקי באפריל 1941 והחלו לפעול מידית כנגד היהודים. בינואר 43' הטיל אייכמן את המשימה של חיסול יהודי סלוניקי על עוזרו. לאחר שהיהודים רוכזו בשלושה גטאות צפופים התחילו הנאצים בשילוחים, בחודש מרץ הקהילה הגדולה והמפוארת הושמדה כמעט לחלוטין. היום הקהילה בסלוניקי מונה פחות מאלף יהודים. שרידים בודדים לקהילה משמעותית.

The Students of Umberto Primo

A documentary. In Thessaloniki, Greece, under Nazi occupation, 96% of the Jewish population was sent to Auschwitz. This film documents the previously untold stories of some of the many young Jewish students attending the Italian school, Umberto Primo, who must put their hopes and dreams on hold and focus only on how they will survive. We recreate the stories, hopes, dreams, and ultimate fates of nine of these Jewish students. By recreating their stories, we also tell the story of the Holocaust in Greece.
