Kovno Ghetto- Life in the Shadow of Death

Documentary film that makes use of photographs, documents and excerpts from diaries. The film describes the stuggle for life of Jews in the Kovno ghetto within a murderous reality. Among a series of aktionen from "The big aktion" that took place on 28 October, 1941 until the "children's aktion" and liquidation of the ghetto in 1944.

תיעוד ביתי. בשנת 2004 ערכו בני משפחת גיטלין ובני משפחת חלוזין מסע לליטא, כדי להתחקות אחר שורשי משפחתם וללמוד על הישרדותם בשואה. הם בקרו בעיירה קלמ/Kelme ובעיירות נוספות בסביבה, ביערות שם הסתתרו בני המשפחה ונפגשו עם בני המשפחה שהצילה כמה מהם. לאחר מכן בקרו בפראג, בבית הכנסת "אלטנוישול" ובקבר המהר"ל.

A documentary film. Lithuania, 1941, during World War II. Hundreds of thousands of texts on Jewish culture, stolen by the Germans, are gathered in Vilnius to be classified, either to be stored or to be destroyed. A group of Jewish scholars and writers, commissioned by the invaders to carry out the sorting operations, but reluctant to collaborate and determined to save their legacy, hide many books in the ghetto where they are confined. This is the story of the Paper Brigade.
