A documentary. Michael (Miki) Goldman, Gilad. Born in Katowice, Poland in 1925. In 1939, moved to Bircza with family. In 1941 the family moved to Nizankowice and from there Michael was taken to a slave labour camp in Przemysl. Building the Ghetto in Przemysl. Most of the Jews from the Przemysl Ghetto were sent to Belzec extermination camp in 1942. As slave laborer, sent to Szebnie labor camp and from there to Auschwitz. Worked in Buna Monowice factory. During death march from Auschwitz in 1944 escaped to the village Wielopole. After liberation, joined the Red Army and later active in the Bricha movement. From...

ביוגרפיה. סרט תיעודי. אודות עו"ד זדנק טומן/Zdeněk Toman. הוא נולד בפראג בשם אשר זליג גולדברגר. בשנות מלחמת העולם השנייה הצליח להימלט ללונדון , שם חבר לממשלת צ'כיה הגולה, והיה לקומוניסט אדוק. לאחר המלחמה חזר לצ'כיה, וסייע לכשלוש מאות פליטים יהודים צ'כים, שברחו לרוסיה, לשוב לצ'כוסלבוקיה , דרך פולין. הוא שיתף פעולה עם הCIA , ה"ג'וינט" ועם המוסד הישראלי בארגון 'הבריחה'. בין 1945 ל1948 עמד בראש ארגיון הביון הצ'כי, המקביל של הק.ג.ב. בשנת 1948 זנח את הקומוניזם ונחקר בשל כך על ידי הק.ג.ב.

The Escape (Ha'Brichah)

In this road movie a group of Israeli teenagers from different backgrounds set out on a personal and fascinating adventure following the original “Bricha Movement", which was set up to help Jews escape post-war Europe and get to Israel. Using today's Europe as the backdrop, and throughout the different stops on the routes of the Bricha, the teenagers meet with survivors, witnesses and local youth to hear their personal extraordinary experiences. The journey they take, both physically and emotionally is complex, amusing, eye-opening - and very important to an understanding of themselves and of their history.
