Das Boot (Director's Cut)

Adapted from the book by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim (1974), Das Boot conveys an anti-war message through the story of a German U-boat crew during the last months of 1941 in the North Atlantic from beginning to end, as seen by a journalist who has been assigned to join the sub's mission. Das Boot earned six Academy Award nominations and won several other film awards.
