Jewish-Italians Auschwitz survivors who were in their teens during the Holocaust tell their stories: post war childhood, the change in their lives with the racial legislation in 1938, arrests and deportations of the Jews with the invasion of Germany to Italy in September 1943 and the establishment of the pro-German puppet government located at Salo, escape attempts to Switzerland through Milan, deportations to Auschwitz, the procedure of execution the gas chambers (Shlomo Venezia, former Sonderkommando), the singular bond between Rome's Jewish Ghetto residents, liberation.
