A feature film. In the mid-1960s, three Mossad agents went on a mission to kidnap and bring to trial in Israel a Nazi war criminal, the Birkenau Surgeon, who lives in East Berlin under the guise of a gynecologist. They locate him, drug him, hide him, and wait for the order to bring him to Israel. But he manages to escape from them and the three return to Israel not before they fabricate a story that they killed him during an escape attempt. Upon their return to Israel, they are accepted as heroes and over the years make a glorious careers based, among other things, on the wonderous story of heroism. The film opens in 1995 at a garden party at one of the three agents,Rachel's villa, celebrating the publication of her book, featuring the amazing, heroic story of the elimination of the Nazi criminal. The party is attended by Zvi, another one of the three who shows Rachel an article published in a Belgian newspaper claiming that the criminal lives in a nursing home in Belgium. Thirty years later, the "dead" criminal has resurrected.
