I Am the Rabbit

Movies
Banned in its homeland for over two decades, this once controversial DEFA humoristic drama follows the story of a young woman who begins an affair with an older man, only to discover he has a deeply personal (and political) tie to her family's past. Known for its critique of corruption in high places, self-serving party officials, and abuse of power behind the Iron Curtain, the film was released not before 1990. Winner of FIPRESCI Prize - Honorable Mention at the 1965 Berlin International Film Festival.
