This episode in the BBC documentary series "Gladiators of WW2" focuses on the Norwegian Resistance and its importance in damaging the German war ships and the Nazi atomic plans. Convinced of the geographical advantage of occupying the port of Narvik, Hitler attacked in April 1940. The king and his government escaped to London and in their place, a neo-Nazi puppet govt. was set up. Norway was under occupation for five years but the Nazi ideology never took root and a short time after the occupation, resistance activities began. The XU unit was a military intelligence unit that sent information to the exiled govt. and Milorg organisation was the underground army. The film presents that Norwegian resistance, strikes, destruction of the Norsk atomic station. Based on archival photographs and film footage, includes eye-witness accounts. Narrated by the actor Robert Powell.
