Movies
Documentary film based on photographs, archival footage and analysis, about Karl Haushofer, a German geopolitician who was involved in the development of Hitler's expansionist strategies. Born in Munich, Haushofer went to Japan where he began his studies to learn about this strategy for the Germans. During WW2, he fought on the Eastern Front and met Rudolf Hess. After Germany's defeat in WW1, Haushofer founded Thule-Gesellsachft which was inspired by the union of black dragons in Japan. In 1919 Adolf Hitler joined the Bavarian branch of the union. After Hitler rose to power, Haushofer took on the role of advisor to Rudolf Hess. The two believed that Germany needed to make a pact with Britain in order to prevent a war on two fronts. Haushofer also made connections with British aristocrats and leaders in the US.
