The Secret Glory

This documentary tells the story of Otto Rahn (1904-1939), an SS Officer, historian and researcher of Lucifer and The Holy Grail. In 1935 he claimed that he possessed knowledge about the place of its origin. Rahn, born in Michelstadt, Germany, was interested from a young age in the Medieval fables. In 1931, following his studies at Giessen University, he visited the Pyrenees in Southern France. After he had completed most of his research there he believed that the Cathars held the answer to this sacred mystery. Rahn wrote two books dealing with The Holy Grail and in 1936, after meeting Himler who was interested in the subject, joined the SS. In 1937 he was sent to Dachau where for disciplinary reasons, he became a guard. A year later he left the SS. In 1939 Rahn’s frozen corpse was found on a mountainside near Soll in the Tyrol. The official cause of death: suicide. Includes family photographs, archival films, and interviews with acquaintances and researchers.
