Drama based on the memories of the American playwright Lillian Hellman. Even though she born to a rich family, independently minded Hellman developed a political awareness and fought against fascism in the 1930s and with her good friend (and most ardent fan), finds herself drawn into a dangerous world of smuggling during the times of Nazism. Winner of 3 Academy Awards (best screenplay based on material previously published, best actor in a supporting role, best actress in a supporting role).
