This documentary deals with the trial of Albert Speer (1905-1981), Hitler’s personal architect, minister of armaments in the years 1942-45 and the Fuhrer’s close friend. The film, which is based on a dramatic reconstruction, reviews Speer trial proceedings at Nuremberg and his role in Nazi Germany war machine. Contrary to his lawyer’s advice, he decided to admit partial responsibility for the crimes of the Nazi regime, but he claimed that he was not directly aware of them. He delivered as much information as he could and claimed that at a certain stage he planned to assassinate Hitler. Among the other accused, Speer stood out as somehow different. He was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Including archive footage and interviews.
