Using expert analysis, eyewitnesses and archival photographs, this documentary tells of the period in Iraq that led to the end of one of the oldest Jewish communitiesץ. Jews had lived in Iraq since 586 B.C. In 1950, there were 160,000 Jews in Iraq and approximately 40% of Baghdad population was Jewish. Today only 22 Jews still call Iraq home. Directed by Carole Basri, an American Jewess of Iraqi origin, the film explores the persecutions of Jews during the time of the pro-Nazi Government of Rashid Ali El-Kilani and the Mufti Haj Amin El- Husseini; the Rashid Ali Massacre (on the eve of 1941 Pentecost), arrests of Zionist activities, migration restrictions, property bans, citizenship negation, operation “Ezra and Nehemiah”, the difficulties of settling in Israel, and more.
