The Eagle's Nest - Europe Falls Before the Reich

This is a documentary series that was produced for Dutch Television. By focusing on Hitler’s retreat, The Eagle’s Nest – Berghof, the series shows a special perspective of Nazi Germany. The Eagle’s Nest is a luxurious house in the mountains in Obersalzberg, Bavaria. Hitler entertained relatives, party leaders and others. Speer von Ribbentrop and Bormann built houses in the area close to the Fuhrer. Four episodes of the series examines the highs and lows of the Third Reich from the inner circle of the Eagle’s Nest as a central command center and private home of Hitler. Original footage is combined with survivors’ testimonies and eye-witness accounts.
