The Last Witness

Movies
A documentary film about Rochus Misch who worked closely with Hitler for years and was privy to his secrets. Misch was allowed to photograph private moments in the Fuhrer's life and the hundreds of photographs he took complete his story. In the film he describes his years in the Nazi regime from his own viewpoint. In 1944 a daughter was born to Misch and his wife. Today, she is a member of the Frankfurt City's Social-Democratic Party. She is very critical of the Nazi Party and cannot explain how her father could have worked for Hitler. This conflict is at the heart of the complicated relationship between father and daughter. What Misch does not know to this day is that his daughter is a Jew and that his wife was Jewish. In 1934, the grandmother persuaded the priest to register the family as Protestants. Now, for the first time, Mrs. Jacob reveals her memories. Other characters from Misch's life, like his friend Erhard Schreier and housing agent Tina Copeck, talk about his story.
