Based on archival footage, this six parts series follows the creation Israel and its development from the rise of Zionism through the Holocaust, War of Independence, Jewish immigration, developments in the 1950s and 60s, Six Days War, diplomatic international front, Yom Kippur War and Camp David Accords to Oslo Agreements. It also details the major battles and the rise of the young state's statesmen, including the first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion. Among those featured are U.S. Presidents Harry Truman and Richard Nixon, key leaders Winston Churchill, Anwar Sadat, David Ben-Gurion, Shimn Peres, Golda Meir, Menachem Begin, and Yitzhak Rabin. Former Israeli Ambassador to the US, Abba Eban, hosts this and presents a firsthand testimony.
