Documentary film produced by the Joint Distribution Committee in order to publicize the plight of German refugees to the American public. The film is based on original films documenting the travellers on the St. Louis, going aboard with their meagre belongings, the boat on the Cuban shore where the refugees negotiated for asylum, an aerial map of the journey, the JDC offices in Paris and New York and their efforts to find shelter for the passengers on the boat in different European countries.
