Mosek Madowicz - A Single Destiny

This is a documentary about the death of Mesek Madowicz. It was done as a school project by a German girl Elisabeth Hinterstoecker. She researched the history of a grave at the cemetary of her small Bavarian village. It was the burial site of an unknown concentration camp prisoner. A farmer found the body shortly after the end of the war in a nearby forest. Identification was impossible, so the deceased became known as the unknown prisoner from Dachau. Elisabeth Hinterstoecker found out about the name, the family history and the last days on a deathmarch from Dachau of Mosek Madowicz. He died after the liberation on his way to Salzburg in the forest because of weakness. A friend who accompanied him through Auschwitz and Dachau remembered the site of his death and so the grave at the cemetary could be linked to Madowicz. All of his family but two sisters were killed in the holocaust. At the end there is footage of a ceremony at his gravesite and the new tombstone with his name and a Hebrew inscription.
