This film deals with the issue of the expulsion of Dutch Jewry that was made possible both because of the collaboration of Dutch government officials as well as the assistance of informers. The director of the film, Willy Lindwer, tells the personal stories of his aunt and uncle who hid in an apartment in the village Varsseveld but were turned over to the authorities by a Dutch family who wanted the apartment for themselves. This family received 75 gilden for the information. Lindwer’s aunt and uncle were sent to Auschwitz and perished there. He found out that the informers and the police, who facilitated the arrests, were Dutch.
