A Diary for Anne Frank

Propaganda film. A description of the professional rise of former national socialists in leading positions in West Germany. The issues dealt with are the extermination of Dutch Jews, the resistance in Holland and the co-operation between German industry and the SS. Film footage, photographs, and documents make clear the relationship of I.G. Farben to the SS and to the extermination politics. In the second part, the whereabouts of the former SS elite and their renewed rise in politics, the military and economy of West Germany is shown in propaganda style. Amongst others, the post-war careers of Hans Globke (state secretary in the Bundeskanzleramt), Otto Ambros (formerly Buna Board), and Hermann Conring (Member of Bundestag, CDU) are depicted. The documentation is embedded within a framework story: a young actress obtains the role of Anne Frank for a theater production.
