Rabbi Baron lectures: 1939-1945 Meer Yeshiva, history. Pre-war, 500 students, all countries, before transferring the Yeshiva to Shanghai. War breaks out, Yeshiva moves to Vilna (Lithuania). Chanukah 1940, authorities object, Yeshiva moved to little shtetl named Kedainiai. Yeshiva breaks up, searching for an embassy in order to escape Russian regime. Dutch embassy enables Yeshiva to move to Koraso area that they reached via Japan. Japanese council, Lithuania, supplied them with visas to Japan. February 26, 1941, left by train to Wladivostok, on to Japan by boat. Reached Shanghai in September 1941.
