A documentary. The film brings to light the Holocaustof the Jewry of former Yugoslavia/ The Holocaust in YUogoslavia resulted in the slaying of 85% of the members of it's Jewish community, who previously did not suffer any form of discrimination.
Stella, the film's protagonist and a young Israeli born in Yugoslavia, researches the nature of the extermination of Jews in each region of Yugoslavia, the part played in it by the Germans, and the part played by the various nationalities that that constitute Yugoslavia.
In parallel, Stella explors the fate of her Muslim great-grandfather who saved Jews during the Holocaust and was there for nominated as a Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem.
The voyage crisscrosses all the provinces of the former Yugoslavia, with the route shown in animation on a map to orient the viewer.
Stella, while writing a blog on her voyage of discovery, meets with historians of the period who tell her that research about about the details of the extermination and the number of Jews killed is still ongoing.
The camera advances along it's path in the footstep of the Jews who were led to their deaths, and films the murder sites where Stella hears personal stories told by syrvivors.
Yugoslavia's beautiful scenery provides a dramatic contrsat to the deeds preformed on it's soil.
