The U.S. Embassy co-sponsored with Walworth Barbour American International School (WBAIS) in Even Yehuda the 70th Commemorative Performance of the children's opera, Brundibár on April 2, 2014. Ambassador Daniel Shapiro and Israeli Minister of Education Rabbi Shai Piron were guests of honor, as well as Holocaust survivor and original Brundibar cast member Ela Weissberger when it was performed at Ghetto Theresienstadt. The Embassy of the Czech Republic, The Theresienstadt Martyr's Remembrance Association and Netanya's Tchernikovsky High School orchestra were crucial to the successful production. The invited audience included senior government officials, mayors, Holocaust survivors, and other members of the community.
